In December 2017, Parliament passed a motion to conduct a statutory review of the Copyright Act. The link to the original announcement can be found here. 

DOC was invited to take part in the process and our Executive Director, Mathieu Dagonas, appeared before the Standing Committee of Canadian Heritage in Ottawa on October 4th. The topic of discussion was Remuneration Models for Artists and Creative Industries and Mathieu highlighted how these currently affect the documentary community.
